Independence From Manufacturers
Fishingbag isn't owned by, or paid by, any rod, reel, or tackle manufacturer to feature their products. Every brand named on this site, from budget spinning combos to premium fly reels, is included or excluded based on the same criteria, not on any relationship with the company that makes it. If a manufacturer sends a product or a pitch, that has no bearing on where it lands in a comparison.
How Content Gets Made
Pages are built by comparing publicly available specifications, current pricing, stock availability, and the volume and pattern of customer ratings for each product. We don't run product tests ourselves or claim to have personally used the specific units we cover, and we're upfront about that limitation throughout the site. Corrections and Updates
Prices and inventory for fishing gear shift often, and a comparison that was accurate in one month can drift within weeks. When we're notified of an outdated price, a discontinued model, or a factual error, we correct it as soon as we're able to verify the change. Readers can flag anything that looks off, whether it's a stale price or a wrong spec, by emailing contact@fishingbag.com.
